Commit to Your New Market – the Public Sector

Entrepreneurs interested in doing business with local, state and federal government entities will want to attend “Commit to Your New Market – the Public Sector” on Tuesday, March 27 at 6:30 p.m. at the Hudson Library & Historical Society.  Rich Delisio, Director, Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) at the Kent Regional Business Alliance will explain the public procurement world of contract opportunities at the local, state and federal level. He will give an overview of the PTAC Program which offers free counseling services with funding provided by the Department of Defense and Ohio Department of Development.

Attendees will learn how to assist with required business certifications, understanding state and federal acquisition regulations, teaming, bid preparation and opportunities with federal agencies. The government buying officers operate in a computer-based culture, yet the PTAC counselors recommend the same commercial-customer steps of developing business relationships and committing time and energy in your new market pursuit.  PTAC clients in Delisio’s five county region in Northeast Ohio accounted for over 200 million dollars in government contracts in 2011.

The Entrepreneurship Series is made possible with support from the Burton D. Morgan Foundation.
